vista 64 + windows level mic

any ideas how to turn mic off at windows level as its contantly on and its annoying me to fell every time i nock my head set/breathe etc i can hear my self. in xp i used to go in to properties and turn playback or recording mic level to mute, cant seem to find it on vista.. any help appreciated

Tried going into Sound -> Recording, then right click the microphone and disable it?

yeah but then it doesnt work in game

Enable it when you want to play a game. Not the best solution I guess though.

No in-line volume control/microphone mute on your mic?

Can you easily get to where you plug the mic in? Then you could just unplug it when you don't need it.
