Vista 64 wont install

So after feeling all proud building my first system vista is now starting to depress me

first my system specs:-

msi p7n diamond
e8400
2 x 2gb ocz reaperx 1000mhz (only running i stick at the moment as system wouldnt boot at all with both)
2 x g92 gts's
2 x 160gb wd caviar (raid 0)
1 x 500gb wd caviar

Now the problem :-
Right after succesfully creating the raid array in the bios I proceded to install vista 64. I enter the region settings then input the code key, accept the licence agreement and come to the screen where I decide which drive to install onto. This is where the problem lies.
In the box which shows available drives is the 500gb caviar so I choose to install the nvidia raid controller driver (created from msi p7n disc) driver installs succesfully and now in the available drives box I have a choice of my raid array or the 500 gb caviar.
So I choose the raid and click next and get the error message " windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its cryteria for installation". I tried several times and got the same message.
So I try the 500gb caviar and get the same error message
So I think maybe its something in bios so just to try I quit out go to bios delete the raid array and reset the bios via reset button
Once again go for the vista install and get to the same point (available drives for installation) This time all three hard drives are present to choose from and all give the same error messag as before
So now im totally confused and have run out of ideas PLEASE HELP as i'm feeling dissheartened with my first build :(

Is there an option to format the hard drive you want to install windows on, can't remember
if this is after you chosen your hard disc or before.

Sorry for being of little help :(

Rob

Have you formatted the drive in question in the vista set-up page?

Either way something to try.......

Completely disconnect 2 of your 3 drives and leave just one connected and try again.

I had a similar problem and this worked for me.
Once Vista was up and running I reconnected the drives and set them up in disk management.

As for why I don't know!

Good Luck!

The opion to format the drive is there but not highlighted ???

How can I format the drives without this option ?

Try formating with win xp disc not sure if vista has the console option you will have to diskpart first or try ubuntu cd
