Hi guys

I installed Vista Ultimate 64bit last night and the install itself went without a hitch until it did it's first reboot to load into Vista OS I then get a BSOD (flashes up and it gone too fast for me to see what it is?) and then just loops like that? I have reset the bios to default, all my hardware was working perfectly prior to the intall (spec below) I have upped the RAM volts as I read that can be an issue but still nothing

I have read that I could try putting an old graphics card in to build the unit as it could be my graphics card?

Gigabyte P35C DS3R
E6600 (stock now)
2gb Ballistix 5300
Seagate 7200.10 x 2 RAID0
X1900XT 512mb

Thanks

So boot with 1 stick instead of 2?

Haven't tried that yet but I can :)

Going to pinch a PCI-e card from my mate and try that too !

Anyone else seen or heard of this issue?

Yes, boot with one stick and see what happens. I know there was an issue regarding memory and 6Bit Vista. So, worth a try anyway ::)

No joy I tried all 4 sticks and it still does the same :(

Wish I could see what the BSOD error is as that would at least give me an idea of what I'm dealing with....

Will switch graphics cards next and see if that does it?

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the 2 lots of raid drivers on the Gigabyte site listed below are??? And what I'm supposed to be using

Download from ... 2007/06/12 Intel ICH9R Driver (Preinstall driver, press F6 during Windows* setup to read from floppy)
O.S. : Windows XP 64Bit,Windows Server 2003 64bit,Windows Vista x64 (64-bit) 7.5.0.1017 0.24 MB

..................................................................................................

Download from ... 2007/04/27 GIGABYTE SATA2 RAID Driver
O.S. : Windows 2000,Windows XP,Windows XP 64Bit,Windows Vista x86 (32-bit),Windows Vista x64 (64-bit) 1.17.13.01 3.01 MB

One intel raid and the other gigabyte? But what do I use

Ok I have read that there is 2 x purple sata ports on the DS3R which are Gigabyte (Graid) and apparently they are rubbish and the other 4 ports (Orange) are Intel ports and are a lot better? Going to set the RAID0 up on the intel ports!

What does every else use?

EDIT: Right got it working chaps, it was the naff Gigabyte sata ports, Intel ones didn't even need drivers I just set the raid0 up and I was off!!

Thanks to everyone who posted for me ;)
