Vista 64bit - Premium vs Ultimate

Is there any benefits/extra features, for a normal user, of having ultimate instead of premium?

I have not seen much more of a difference between the 2 with regards to day to day usage.

Only benefit with Ultimate is the dreamscene and added windows sounds.

yup, wish i bought premium instead and saved a little cash.. wont be so hastey with seven.

Same here, weighed up the extras I got from Ultimate and decided against it. Waste of money imo.

i did do that! I have ultimate installed on my laptop and premium installed on desktop, the only reason i used ultimate was for the remote desktop ability and was just wondering whether any reason to install it on the desktop bt dont think i'll bother now from what you lot have said!

Ultimate also has all the features from Vista Business such as the IIS webserver that you don't get with premium.

If I was a normal user I would just buy basic, don't need media centre and all that other gimmicky crap that premium has.

Basic doesn’t have the Aero interface though, I hate the vista basic theme.

Seriously though, a registry edit will activate aero on vista basic.
