Hi all,

Am on vista 64bit and have been getting quite a few errors recently regarding InPageCoFire and it says the damaged file is "winmm.dll.mui". If anyone could upload the "winmm.dll" file from the C:/Windows/System32/ folder that'd be very helpful. The file size comes to 207kb on my machine.

Thanks

Daven

Hi daven1986 WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could use SFC to restore corrupted system files.

But the winmm.dll file related to the Windows media API (audio etc) so I would update your audio drivers, update to the latest DirectX End User Runtime as well.

Also make sure all Windows updates are installed (inc SP2 for Vista) and that your RAM is running good using memtest.

Good luck chap.

Thanks, I am running the SFC now. I am on SP2 and all updates are installed. Will check the DX version and make sure it is all up-to-date.

Edit: I have DX11 and I can't find any installer for it so I'm guessing that is all up-to-date via the windows update software.

Edit: All audio drivers are up-to-date

Ok after doing the SFC I get this in the log:

Is it possible to run SFC off the command prompt on the windows install disk?

Thanks

You should be able to, might want to check up on specific commands but booting off the vista cd should give various options.

thanks, I have rebooted for now and will rerun sfc to see if it repaired them on boot otherwise i'll try the install disk.

Edit: it seems that a reboot allowed it to fix the files, sfc now reports no errors.

Thanks :)
