Guys

I'm trying to install the latest drivers but as I had already installed them and then had to repair my Vista install it thinks there are still files about??

Done - Add/remove - reg mechanic- ccleaner - searched the registry :(

Still get the same error every time :(

Please help!

I'm going mad

Gonna need a few more details please mate - what are the drivers for and what revision are you using?

Have you tried installing them in safe-mode? (press f8 at start up if my memory serves me)

Sorry drivers are for my Xtrememusic sound card...

I haven't tried safe mode as yet..

Revision? The latest from the creative website

Could try it when I get home I suppose

OK i'm going to boot into safemode and run every drivercleaner / driver removal / registry program there is tonight

Fingers crossed

Goodluck mate I have the same soundcard - if safemode doesn't fix it perhaps try using an older driver as that may let it install and then you could remove and put the newer one on.

If it's still not working what does device manager show under sound and video game controllers? (Right click computer, properties, device manager) I know you probably know anyway but hey - I like to make sure lol

yep it was i spent a evening trying to fix it cold boots driver cleaner from guru3d going in through safe mode etc etc etc even going into the registry and deleting the everything to do with creative but to no nothing worked got annoyed with it and formatted it. when i reinstalled vista i restarted the system when it asked me to and not had any probs since
