I just booted up my pc and logged in, now for some strange reason Vista
is looking for drivers for me Pioneer BDC-202BK drive, not only that, but it's
also looking for drivers for my hard drive and Saitek Eclipse keyboard.

It's also not detecting my Pioneer BDC-202BK anymore :/

Anyone know why it's doing this?

I havn't changed any hardware recently and this is just weird.

There arent any drivers for them to install, that's what strange. Also how can I need drivers for a sata hard drive if im currently working off of it :/

I initially got that loads with Bluetooth dongles, usb cards, mouse & keyboard etc..

Thing is, they all work so I've simply instructed Vista not to look for drivers in future via the accompanying popup box

Does it show up in Device Manager? If not try the "scan for hardware changes" which is available via the "Action" tab.
If it is in Device Manager but not showing up in My Computer try uninstalling it from Device Manager and restarting.

Got the blue ray sorted, it asked me to reboot so I did.

Now though I can't load windows, I get non stop BSOD's as soon as windows starts to load :/

Tried windows repair from Vista disk and restore to before I got the blueray drive working.

Still nothing, even tried with 1 stick of ram, and with removing other parts one at a time.

This sucks:(

Are you overclocking at all - if yes try putting back to default.
Couple of other things to try, download mem test to check your ram and possible hard drive diagnostics from the manufacturer.

I was OC'ing yes, but the first thing I did was revert back to defaults. I'll memtest, I just hope I dont need to use a floppy because there isn't one near me for over 50 miles :(

You can download ultimate boot cd which has memtest on it, you just need to burn it to a CD then boot from the CD and find it in the menus.

I setup an old USB stick as a boot disk, got memtest on it and Samsung HDD Diagnostic tool.

Memtest was a 100% pass :)

Still running full diagnostic now, only at 31%. Still a long while off.

I hope at worst my HDD is faulty, I backed up over the weekend so that's fine.
I'd prefer that to a buggered Mobo :(

Ah alright, I'll do that as soon as the HDD Diagnostic is done.

Do you know if there is any type of test for the mobo?

I'm downloading Ultimate Boot CD now, but there doesn't seem to be a mobo test on it.

I've borked a Vista install by overclocking, not sure of the ins and outs of why it screwed up but even after getting rid of the overclock it was never right. Similar symptoms - problems booting, BSODs. I assumed it was a memory error but the sticks checked out fine.

I'm using the same system now minus the overclock on a fresh install and it has been rock solid so it wasnt the hardware.

Well the HDD diagnostic says my HD is fine.
Will be running memtest all night, and reinstalling windows if that passes.

Might also run some CPU tests that's on the ultimate boot cd.

If still doesnt run after reinstall of vista I'm stumped :/

Seems I had the a similar problem to theheyes.

I reinstalled vista and everything is working now :D

Special thanks to all of you for helping me. :)
