This might seem an odd question, but is there a way to check if Vista has already been Activated.

On XP you get a popup balloon in the bottom corner saying "xx days remaining before Activation is required" (or something like that).

I've recently installed Vista, but don't seem to be getting any Activation prompts, reminding me to Activate. I seem to recall there being an option to 'Activate now' during the install process, but I'm almost certain that I unchecked that box, as I wanted to make sure eveything was working fine before Activating.

So how can I tell whether my copy of Vista thinks it has already been Activated or not?

(This is for Home Premium btw)

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question, but I don't want to find that it suddenly stops working, just because I didn't Activate it in time.

Hey div0, just simply press the Windows key + Break, this will bring the System Information up. Then scroll to the bottom where it saids, Windows Activation. Now it will eaither say, "(A certain amount of days) till activation" or if your copy of Windows Vista is already activated it will say "Windows is Activated". :)

Perfect! Thanks :)

'26 day(s) to Activate'

Strange that they don't make it quite as 'in your face' as with XP.

Thanks again though. Still taking a bit of time to get used to some of the differences from XP.

/edit - thanks as well to SpinningMonkey. That key combo brings up the same screen as Curiousalien described, but it's handy to know the shortcut keys as well! :)
