vista aero, 3dmark?

Ok i have a small chalenge for someone who has 3dmark installed on vista X64, have you tried switching to vista basic and running another test? in other words no aero running. I would run the test myself but i dont have 3dmark installed and dont really wana download it just to try this.

will your score be the same, vista aero vrs vista basic!

Using 3d mark 06 I get:

9008 - Areo
9003 - Vista Basic

I did find setting power save to high performance gave a boost along with enhanced hard disk performance ticked. By default h performance isn’t on.

In device manager click the properties of your HDD's and its under one of the tabs.

ah yes, but when i tick them they dont stay ticked, once closed when i re open they are both unchecked again? why dont they hold there settings?

Old hard disks? Perhaps they dont support it.

2 seagate 7.10's 320g in raid O, only 2 months old so should support it, perhaps its because they are in raid maybe.
