Vista altering music files

This is starting to get annoying. Vista is doing something to my MP3s which is corrupting my torrents.

So I download some unsigned music. I then stop seeding, move the downloaded music to another drive, point utorrent to where the download now is, recheck and then it's no longer 100% complete. Somehow the files have been changed. My only thought is that vista is changing them when I move them.

Actually scrub that. I just rechecked some even before moving and they are incomplete. So something is changing them. I only use winamp to listen to music and I'm sure that doesn't alter files. So I still think it's Vista. Anyone got any ideas?

Vista doesn't change them, mp11 will do if you have it set to do it.

It is unticked but I don't use it anyway.

I think so. I really don't know what it is. Something is altering the files. Sometimes utorrent says none of the files are there, even though if I click a file it utorrent it will play. Other times it says the beginning and end of the files are not complete.

It's driving me nuts though.

Enable auditing on the folder, create a new user. Run Winamp as that user, play the file, close Winamp. See what last modified the file.

Sorry I'm a little lost.

EDIT: Crap. Previous versions feature... does that remove new data. So my torrent folder... if I go back to a older version will it delete data created today?
