I have been looking around with no hope, trying to get some info on vista and 64bit support.

I was hoping Microsoft would have dump 32 bit now.But never mind i can see why they have done it this time round.

But theres a few apps and games that have said they be release as 64 bit.

But is it going to be such bad support as xp 64
or should i just bit the bullet and stick with 32 bit

whilst vista is final now, it's still not available to the public. don't expect 64bit drivers for anything much before the public release. :)

I've been running Vista 64 Ultimate for a week now - no major issues to report.
All of my hardware was supported out of the box and where it wasn't I'm now using first release or beta drivers and they are doing as they should.

64bit support, certainly from MS is not going to be lacking.
The support problems come from lazy third parties who don't want to learn and move things forward.
It took games houses how long to learn to code around a HAL (resulting in us seeing Win2k released as a business only OS).
Even now we still have the issue of games requiring you to be logged in as an "administrator" when really you shouldn't need to be...

Once Vista is actually available then expect 64bit driver support to really catch-up.
