Hi guys,

I have my E6700 running at 3.0Ghz.... and in vista its showing as 5.6 on the base score.

Lost of other people have it showing at 5.9.

Can you help me to overclock the E6700 to reach 5.9?

Thankyou.

Post your specs so we could help you :) .

mine is 5.9 for the processor but overall is 5.7 because of my GPU and HD space

Sounds like theres something wrong there.

I have a quad core but it's only running @ 2.6 & give me a base score of 5.9.

My RAM lets me down with 5.0 due to me having 2GB on Vista 64 bit.

Im using E6700 2.6Ghz running @ 3.0Ghz - now 5.7? (want at 5.9 if possible?)

4 x 1GB Corsair Dominator 6400 - 4-4-4-12 -- 2Clocks - 5.9

Maxtor 320GB Sata2, 7200RPM - 5.8

ASUS P5N-e SLI - Not Graded

EVGA 8800GTS 320mb KO ASC3 - 5.9

Vista Business 32Bit.

Hope this helps.

Mine gives 5.7 for my E6400 @ 3.2Ghz

Overall 5.6 because of my Hard drive but its on my samsung 8Mb drive - if it was on my WD SE16 then no doubt it would be higher :)

to be honest sounds ok to me for the 3Ghz mark. today i toned it down to 3.1Ghz and the base score droped 2 points.

All your other specs look fine.

Vista will give you a 5.8-5.9 score if you have fast enough RAM, when I had 2GB it was 5.9.

Your quadcore gives you 5.9 because you have *4* cores, together they have a tremendously high MIPS rate, even at 'only' 2.6Ghz.

I think the cpu score is just a random number based on the chip model number....

Check out my recent test scores:

1.8GHz stock = 5.7
2.8GHz = 5.7
2.9GHz = 5.6
3GHz = 5.6
3.15 = 5.6
3.2GHz = 5.7
1GHz = 5.9

(OK so I made the last one up :) )

See that makes no sense at all. 1.8GHZ = 5.7 and then 2.9GHZ = 5.6, i dont think so somehow.

Just ignore the Vista score thingy, it dosent prove anything.

If your computer performs the way you would like it, be happy.
