Hi all

Im am interested in purchasing vista (from this site)soon and am somewhat confused by what version I need to buy in order to play games like cod2, medieval total war 2 and other upcoming titles. Also is DX10 present on all vista releases as I have a dx9 card at present but want to upgrade in a few months. Do I need Vista Premium or Ultimate home edition ???

My apologies if this has been asked already :o

If your going to go vista purely for gaming I would wait a while untill better graphics drivers come out. At the moment the performance is crap so I hear.

Either mate. Home Premium is what most people are going with.

(* most people who are getting Vista, that is. Arguably any gamer with sense will wait before getting Vista just yet, until some of the kinks are ironed out.)

Apart from compatibility issues I have detected no change in performance for games such as Rainbow 6. (When its runs without crashing). I get virtually the same score in 3d mark across XP and Vista 64 bit. Its however, far too buggy to use.

Cheers for the replies guys. Looking at above posts it looks like I will wait a while and get Home premium :)

If you have two or more harddisks you could dual boot, and use the meantime to accustome yourselt to it. Thats me anyways ;)
