Vista and IPX

ok this has prolly been asked before, but I couldnt find where. IPX is not present in Vista and theerfore old games are unplayable. This is a real pain as I have a lot of LAN game events, and this seriously limits the fun stuff available.

I tried one fix I found on the net here:

but it doesnt work. IPX protocol shows up in the network connection, but the games dont see it. Even after a restart. Anyone got another method that worked with them?

I tried that too - didn't work (Red Alert 2). Found no other option other than to use XP (Virtual Machine works)

how much does that slow up though? I only have an amd 3000

2gb ram though

duel boot?
easiest way, thats what i do.

i have a 500gb disk sat in my pc waiting to be loaded with vista games as soon as anything good comes out.

It's worth trying a virtual machine, you have enough ram and the cpu should be able to cope. It's difficult to know how it will perform until you try
