Vista and messengers

Im having some weird issues with messenger programs running on Vista.

With MSN, everything will be fine and dandy, then at random points it'll stop responding to me. It doesnt freeze, it just wont let me talk to anybody and wont let anybody talk to me. Neither me nor the other person will recieve a message saying our messages havent been recieved by the other person, its like our messages are sent into limbo.

Not only that, at random points it'll stop letting me change my status to away or whatever.

In the end i got annoyed and installed Trillian, and now thats doing the same damn thing. :mad:

Help please...

Connection settings? Tried Gaim or any other alternative? Can't stand Trillian myself

What do you mean by connection settings?

And i havent tried Gaim, i figured if Trillian was doing it they probably all will. Not sure if yahoo and/or skype are having the same issues, i dont use them much.

If they're both having problems holding a connection to the messenger server, it would imply something getting in the way. You got a firewall running?

None that im aware of, i turned off all of Vistas "protection" and havent installed a firewall myself.

Grr it's still doing it. I emailed msn support yesterday but havent had a reply, this is driving me ******* insane!
