Did anyone else have any problems with Vista and MSN (6 or live) it wont allow me to connect to msn for some reason. Iv turned off the firewall on vista and iv even forwarded the ports on my router to allow msn ports to my pc but it doesnt seem to want to know, its defenatly nothing wrong there end because i can get on with my laptop.

Try logging in with another computer and then try logging in with your Vista machine - does it kick you off the other one?

What router do you have?

I can log in on another machine, iv tried 2 different machines with MSN Live messenger and both work fine, i have a Netgear DG834G router which i dont think is the issue as its only happening with Vista.

When i try and log in msn in vista it takes ages then i get this message:

Windows has made several failed attempts to log into msn, please check your firewall settings:

Error Code: 81000306

Iv tried disabling the firewall on vista and forwarding the msn ports on my router to my ip to no avail.

Right, I had the same problem as you when I was playing about with the Beta2 of Vista. Upgrading the firmware of the router sorted my problem - I also have the DG834G. :)
