VISTA AND NETWORKING

Hi all has anyone had this issue with vista rtm and beta 2

when i plug my speedtouch 585i v6 with bulldog. in the network map in vista has a cross thouth it and i cant get online but when i use dns ie the ip for google it connects fine but when i use www.google.co.uk error page can not be displayed i can ping google using ip but not domain name i have looked every where for a fix found one or two but still wont work iam not using firewalls nothing at all

also have a ntl line and that works fine but i am not using a router

any help would be great as i wont vista on my pc but if i cant get this sorted then iam not going to bother

try manually setting your DNS servers to the NTL ones?

i.e. Manage network connections
Right click on your connection
Properties
IPv4
Properties
use the following dns servers

194.168.4.100
194.168.8.100

?

I'm assuming the speedtouch will install a network connection thing.
