Vista and Quad Core

Hi, I just wanted to know whether Vista Ultimate edition supports Core 2 quad. (Q6600). If anyone has Vista and core 2 quad CPU, can you please post screenshots of task manager! Thanks!

Yes it does. Even XP Home supports quad core CPUs.

Indeed, the limitation is on the number of processors, not the number of cores per processor.

1 physical i think. Of course, you can have many cores in the one package.

XP Home has limit of one socket, Pro has a limit of 2 sockets I think. Not sure on Vista.

Vista Ultimate supports 2 physical cpu's like xp pro.

I looked it up, XP Home doesn't support more than one physical CPU, whereas Pro supports two. couldn't find anything on Vista
