Vista and Upgrading

So what is the deal with Vista (oem) and upgrading parts of your PC?

If I install and activate Vista and then replace my motherboard in 6 months, would I have to buy a new copy?

Yes you would, but I think u could also just call MS and say my mobo blew up and cant get a direct replacement, and then u should get a keycode somehow, I dont know this for sure as I have never done it before myself
