Have I missed something with Vista, I have vista Business installed and none of my video files work unless I view them through Nero Show Time. I have the K-Lite mega Codec Pack installed, as well as BS Player Pro. But all I get is a black screen and the audio for the Video File.

Video card is a 9800 Pro, running the built in ATI driver (from Vista).

Help - What Is Wrong :(

grab the latest ati beta and see if it makes a difference.

I'm using the same codec pack as you (first one I've installed in years) and it all worked suprisingly well.

Set the output mode to directx. I'm using VideoLAN and had this problem until i changed the output mode.

If he's using the klite pack then he only needs to load the videos up in wmp. Should all work.

As for VLC, I recommend grabbing the latest nightly and setting it to gdi output. Keeps Vista from turning off it's eye candy.

klite is a pos

use ffdshow, no problems

ffdshow didn't work well with the majority of my videos. Lots of pixelation and the like.

The klite pack works well.

edit:

It'll do the job till vlc works perfectly
