basically i have vista installed on one partition and xp on the other. by default it boots vista, which is what i want. however, i want to load xp and it wont let me. pressing F8 on startup is useless as it only lets me select a different hard disk. if i press it again it says choose an operating system, but only lists vista.
how can i get into xp?

cheers

tom

Assuming XP was installed first Vista would normally have added itself to the boot sector and you would not have any problems. Sorry I know this does not help, but if you installed XP afterwards then you're out of luck as a duel boot between the two cannot be setup this way.

Not knowing how you set the 2 operating systems up I'd maybe suggest changing the Boot Drive in the bios and seeing if it allows you to access XP that way.

Edit... Sorry you said partition. Not drive. Ignore my second comment.

cheers for that. it says i only have vista installed :(
if i boot the xp disk, can i install xp over the old installation without affecting anything?
