Vista and XP install issue

hi all,

I currently have Vista 64 installed and am trying to install XP.

I have the partitions set up no problems.

When i reboot to XP CD I can run set up where it gets to the format section, which it does and then restarts. This is where the problem comes as when it restarts all I get is the black ctrl+alt+del screen indicating that it is unable to find a OS.

When i reboot and go to the menu selection I can load vista up so i know there is no problems with the Vista installation. On the XP partition i can find XP instalation files but am unable to do anything with them.

As far as I am aware it should restart and proceed with the installation of XP until complete then I need to repair the Vista install.

Advice/hints/tips/solutions please?

Thanks

Because Vista uses a different boot loader than XP I think the easiest way to get it workign is to install Xp first and then Vista as Vista will pickup that you have Xp and then let you chose between XP and vista. If you install Xp after vista Xp wont be able to modify the Vista loader and will bugger it up.
