vista and xp

hi guys
i have vista ultimate installed and want top go back to xp, however my xp is an upgrade disk and requires an earlier version of windows to install do you think it would accept the vista disk for the check ?

Haven't you got a WinME or a Win98SE disk somewhere. That would do the job for an upgrade to XP. If not borrow one from a friend or get a cheap one off Ebay. How did you originally get the XP on there if you have only got an Upgrade XP?

did have win98 but it got broke dont matter now have uninstalled vista and back to good old xp
