Vista - Application Data

How can I access my Application Data folder in vista? I keep getting access denied.

start, run, %appdata%

do you get access denied there (i'm not on vista right now, so can't check)

have you disabled UAC messages

were you following a link? Ive found that some shortcuts in vista profiles just dont work, you need to delete and recreate them.

It's been replaced by "appdata" in Vista.

The above link might be useful. Happened to me the other day when I had to overwrite the outlook.nk2 file from an xp to vista machine.

That's because they're not shortcuts, they're Junctions. Use the correct folders and don't touch the junctions - they're there for backwards compatibility. Deleting and recreating them probably breaks it.

You are probably right, I never use them and dont install much onto my work laptop other than essentials, ie office07/outlook07/splicecom ip phone software.
