Vista & ATI Catalyst Control Centre

I've installed Vista 32bit on a new Intel rig. I chose the ATI X1950 512mb Crossfire edition graphics in case I want to upgrade to Crossfire later. The card is running well with no probs using ATI driver 8.333.0.0. I had also installed the Connect3d software Catalyst Control centre & Catalyst install manager. The control centre will crash after a while.

Does anyone have this problem?

Edit: Sorry I think I posted this in the wrong section. Could a mod move this to Graphics please?

Have you downloaded the newest drivers from ATI website. These include the CCC for vista. I'm pretty sure the cd that came with the card will not have Vista drivers.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

You are correct that Vista drivers were not on the CD. I had downloaded the latest Catalyst 7.1 drivers from their web site. I've just checked & there are no further updates since 29/01/07.

Can i ask why you were installing the CCC from Connect3d? If you downloaded the full driver set from ATI/AMD site they have the CCC + driver in them.

Yeah, they look the same. If it was me i would download driver pack from ATI/AMD site, uninstall the connect3d driver pack and start again using the ones you just downloaded.

Other than that i'm not sure mate. Sorry!

Thanks, I may wait a few days. I just had a reply from Connect support who said they were posting a new Vista driver by the end of the week.
