Vista + Audigy.

Right I'll ask this here as its more a Windows question rather than a sound one.

Simple one really! I've put my Audigy 4 back in to get over problems with my onboard sound on XP, will I have drivers available to me if I go back to Vista for the Audigy? I know the XFi had problems but I've only ever used the P5K onboard sound for Vista. Hah reading it back to myself that sounds like a mouthful.. but yeah that's the question!

Only problems ive had with audigy2/xfi in vista is when using alchemy to try and get back hardware acceleration in games. some games are ok and others will blue screen so abit hit and miss. All other functions outside of games are fine.

Which drivers did you use Matty with your Audigy 2? and was it a ZS?

The Original Audigy 2 Retail. using latest drivers on creative site . june 08 i believe. The card is in use on my other machine running vista 32.

I'm still unsure, the replies are just making me more worried.

I don't want to be with a useless soundcard and I don't want to play games with the occasional BSOD, if what MadMatty says is true.

surely I'm not the only one with an Audigy 4 on Vista!

I'm using an Audigy 4 with Vista x64,in my gaming experience I find the latest Audigy drivers solid in gaming,however when using Alchemy wrapper for older games for EAX etc its hit or miss,some work fine others will crash in game,so basically without the Alchemy wrapper there are no issues in gaming.
