vista audio/video sync issues

since installing vista the sync of all my video files is out, but only after 5 mins or so, and a restart of the video is needed and then only for another 5 mins or so until it needs it again

any ideas how i can sort this

Try installing the K-Lite Codec Pack
http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm
(free and contains loads of codecs) Should sniff out the correct one to use with your vid files.
Can't say I have encountered this one myself though. (I run a lot of multimedia stuff.) Sure the prob wasn't there with them in XP?
Sounds like a skew with DVD content captured to .avi or .wmv or quicktime.
