Since I've installed Vista, I've noticed when listening to music, or any audio, I have a process called audiodg.exe listed in my task manager using about 14% CPU and about 13Mb RAM. If the audio source is turned off, the process goes back down to 0% usage.
Now, I've located the cause, I'm using an X-Fi sound card, and when I turn off CMSS-3D in the audio control panel, the process goes back to 0% cpu usage.
I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem with their X-Fi cards or any other sound cards? My guess is the dodgy Creative BETA drivers, but I'm just wondering if anyone else if getting the same issue I am. You will need to click on 'Turn on processes from all users' in order to see the process listed.
I will be sending off an email to Creative, I'm just seeing if I'm the only one with this issue.
Thanks.
