Vista blocking an application a friend sent me

Hi guys,

A friend just sent me an extraction program as i have some compressed files that i obviousley need to extract. However, when i try to run the application to install i get an error message about how windows has blocked it due to it being 'potentially harmful' and i therefore can't run it! Very annoying! :mad:

Anyone have a fix or solution to this?

If you go into the properties (Right click > Properties), you should be able to click 'Unblock'.

I just tried and theres no blocked box anywhere, i have read only, system and hidden but they are greyed out. The file itself is compressed, and needs to be extracted, as i go to use vista's to do it i get that bloody annoying message, but no option to proceed anyway! grrr

What was the fix? Installing XP ?
