Vista boot problem - C1.dll

I've had vista running for a while without any problems but just recently at boot i'm getting C1.dll is missing or corrupt.

I've attempted repairs via the vista disk to no effect, the wierd thing is I can click Enter following this message then enter again at the "start windows normally or in safe mode" screen that is then displayed, selecting normally and Vista will load up.

Anyone have any suggestions as google isnt helping me much?

When I have missing dll's I always use This
I've tried searching for "c1.dll" but nothing came up sorry

I'd take a look a Visual Studio. C1.dll is part of the install.

never heard of visual studio, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll try replacing mine with the one Yama linked too.

Any other ideas guys, I'll try anything before I go back to a fresh install.
