Vista bootup logo?

When it's booting you get the left-right bars going off, just like in xp. But I don't have anything above this green bar, just a black screen.
Is this normal, because in xp at least they had a big logo to fill the space up.

I'm wondering if it's because I'm on business :/

I don't have a boot logo either on vista home premium.

Ahh well at least I know it's normal.

Seems strange that they kept the layout, but just removed the logo, seems like they didn't get around to it or something!
If it were me, I would have moved the bar to the middle so it didn't look so 'empty' at the top.

same as mine -- maybe MS changed it for Vista but can add up if you want, I leave it same way.

Well obviously, but I just thought it was strange MS left it blank this time, that's all.

start, run, type "msconfig" select the boot tab, then tick no gui boot, reboot and you now have the Aurora boot screen

I've been using Vista for a month and it still worries me into thinking it's not booting properly.

Maybe there is a picture there but it's totally black. I cannot believe that MS deliberately left most of the screen free of free advertising. Will probably be corrected in a service pack or via an automatic update.

I tried the no gui boot option, but my PC didn't like it and it crashed on startup.

It did look good though, but no status bar is a bit annoying.

I heard microsoft left the screen blank so that windows will boot faster to your desktop. It looks better that way anyway.

Whether the picture is there or not, your boot time will still be the same.

Partly that, and their other reason they came up with was that they'd been telling OEMs to leave all stuff before boot as plain as possible (no big flashy BIOS logos), so they thought they'd do the same.

They had planned a lovely 32-bit colour boot screen, but it got scrapped as it added quite a few seconds to the boot time - and was ultimately pointless.

I still say something that says 'vista' or whatever in the big space would be better, and I can't imagine it would even waste a tenth of a second.
And after all, they waste a good second showing the windows logo just before you have to log in anyway.
