Vista Business Issues

Ive recently installed Vista Business on our works computer. I am having an issue when i install Norton Internet Security 2009, when i download and install the software, updates etc.... restart the machine and when Vista boots up i have no internet connection, i dont have any control of applications as they dont load up.

I then reload in safe mode, remove NIS restart then i have full control again.

What can be causing this conflict? Any ideas people.

This might sound like a terrible reply, but I dislike norton/symantec with a passion as these kinds of things happen way too often.
Some of our clients in work have went against our recommendations and bought NIS 08/09 and have lost all ability to use the net and or ftp regardless of config. Things are so bad with quality and support, we have quit using/selling norton/symantec and have become avg resellers. We still have Symantec AV for our spamfilters and internal kit though one of our main servers has had to have system centre and Av reinstalled numerous times alone.
A good AntiVirus and windows firewall should be enough for most normal users. All in one products are not great.
