As the title really. I got an Advent laptop ages ago which came with Windows Vista Home Premium (no box though - just manuals and CD). Firstly, is it ok for me to install that on my desktop?

Secondly, how can I get the free upgrade from 32bit to 64bit from Microsoft to use on my desktop? Or do I need the full retail version to do this?

Thanks

No, not unless you bought the retail version when you got the laptop.
You would need to contact advent to get the x64 version i think.
If you were able to get a disk from them, you could install it on the desktop, and it probably would activate, you'd just be in violation of the EULA.
