I have just bought a new HDD (from OCUK of course) and I am going to install Vista and Office 2007 "trial" versions.

For the Vista clean install do I just install the HDD and run the DVD? do I need to format the HDD?

Anybody just done this?

Let me know how you find Vista mate i'm interested in trying it out, does anyone know if WoW runs on it?

Wicked all I really use my PC for is Outlook\Excel for work, Surfing the Net and WoW :D

Any common apps that don't work or anything else I should know?

Cheers

Ta - apparently some earlier builds were "upgrade only".

:)

Now for the fun!
Think it was the other way round - most of the older builds were clean install only. Upgrade was only introduced relatively recently, and even then it took hours...

Well - apart from the "creative" game port (never used) it all works and looks smart too.

Have Vista 5728
Office Beta 2007
AVG 7.5 Beta
Creative beta
All other drivers as XP or from windows download.

Biggest problem was getting on the net initially as the gigabyte network adaptor didn't work. Had to install any driver that worked and them update via windows to get proper 3 com driver.

Office 2007 installed fine but won't start up for me.

I don't want to hijack the thread but can someone tell me if I'll need raid drivers for a clean install of Vista?

If so, does anyone know if I can slipstream them into Vista.

Cheers.

For Office 2007 there is a new file to download from the 2007 web site (called technical refresh - 500mb) which you run after the office install

Have you done that?
