Hi, I've just downloaded freight tycoon for my son but it never seemed to load. After searching online I found a patch from the developers to let it play in Vista but the patch would not install. I then had another look online to see what else I could do and it was recommended it change the affinity. No difference.
Is there any other way I can play an XP game on Vista?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Right click on the game shortcut icon.
Click properties
Click advanced
Tick run as administrator
Click ok
Click compatibility
Tick run this program in compatibility mode for: windows xp

Then click on the game shortcut.... and prey!

Possibly the following:

Don't install from autorun of the CD or DVD, but cancel the setup and go directly to the setup.exe (or whatever) on that installation disk. (You can usually find it named in the autorun.inf file on that disk).

Right-click that installation executable, set the compatibility to XP and then run it.

After installation, right-click the executable that runs the game (on the hard disk) and also set its compatibility to XP. Try starting the game.

If that still doesn't work, start the executable that runs the game (on your hard drive) as administrator.

Sometimes this method works for me. Good luck.
