Vista constantly asking about "file security" at boot.

Just done an install of vista64 on a new laptop and after installing the vga drivers (intel cheapo stuff) vista is asking me if i trust 3 files at boot. These files being the ones that control the taskbar icon and such.

It askes if you trust the files, i click to run and i also untick the box that askes if it should check them each time it boot.

I reboot and it askes the same question every time.

Hopefully somebody has had this before and there is a simple fix?

I had this same problem with my laptop, the solution was to use older Intel drivers.

Uninstalled the drivers, tried an old one and now i'm getting told

This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.

And the original drivers do the same.

Not a Toshiba is it by any chance?

I had similar problems as Intel/Toshiba leave the exe files with their 'downloaded from the internet' protection on so you get that prompt every time.

What you need to do is say no at each prompt then find the file on the system and drag it to the desktop, right click it and select properties, then you should see "Unblock" click that and click ok, then drag the file back to its original location. Once you've done that it should be ok... until you update them again in the future!

Ahh, i tried the "unblock" thing, but it did it with the files in their original locations. Checked the files again and they were all back to being blocked.

Not a Toshiba, it's one of the Clevo generic units that shows up from time to time, awesome manufacture site, the driver download page is 404!
