Vista copying large file help plz

Hi all,

In windows vista if I copy 1 file of around 18gig from my internal hd to my hd in an icy box all connected via SATA i get

19MB/s and it takes around 15minutes

Does this sound correct?

Also my computer becomes very unresponsive...... which sucks........

Vista is nortorious for its long file copy times, SP1 was supposed to fix this, but it hasn't for me.

So yes it does sound right for vista, MS need to sort file copying out.

(I'm not vista bashing, I generally like it)

so it sounds about right the speed to copy and the responsiveness of the OS when copying?

18 gig would take about 1 hour even on my XP. It would take a few minutes by SATA/IDE
