not dual booting, its just plain (LOL) and simple (LOLOLOL) vista on my friends HP laptop (dont say HP is the first mistake there not that bad

Gets to the loading screen for vista, bit with the green bar and then stops dead centre after the 2 run across :S power down n back on then runs fine...minutes later it dies and reboots again.
The mobo and cpu was changed becuz the HS stopped working n blew the cpu thru ze mobo. a few days after the fix the date n time wer wrong so i thort that *** be the prob, not setting the bios right, cuz i know that if the dates wrong some programs spak out.
anyway...no luck...any ideas?
