Well, I decided I would have a game of Battlefield, when I get a message saying I'm running in reduced functionality mode as my copy is not genuine?

So, I'm running on the standard non-aero mode at the moment, and I've read I can only stay logged in for an hour at a time. Brilliant.

Has anyone got a phone number I can use to contact Microsoft? I have an OEM copy so I would need the activation hotline number.

Well after calling every call centre in the middle east, I've finally managed to get through to someone who could help me. About time to, I was about to go postal when they told me there was nothing they could do till monday. ;)

But if anyone else has the same trouble,

If your System Properties window is showing that you're activated and online validation says you're not, please:

1. Phone activate and speak with a support agent when you’re given the option. You can start by typing "slui.exe 4" in the search field in the Start Menu and pressing Enter. Follow the prompts through phone activation (be ready for lots of numbers) and then reboot. The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes.

2. Once you're done, please revalidate by clicking on "Validate Windows" here: www.microsoft.com/genuine

After you've validated successfully you can log out and log back in or reboot to get rid of any non-genuine messaging you may be getting.
