Hi,

Having and issue here that is really starting to annoy me. Bought a new Laptop, has come with Vista Business pre-installed, I now wish to copy a lot of files accross from my old machine (running XP Home SP2) to my new vista Laptop.

However when trying to copy the files 95% of them give the following error

"Destination Folder Access Denied"

Whats that all about ? I assume its talking about access rights to the folder on my Vista machine that im trying to copy to, but im logged in as an Admin with full access rights to that folder.

Help. Have googled the problem, but no one seems to have a solution that doesn't involve installing apps and playing with the registry.

ok, im now able to access the shared folder on vista whilst on the XP machine and copy across, but unable to use Vista to copy from the XP share, if that makes any sense at all.

Been using Vista for a couple of days now and already beginning to dislike it :(

are you using admin accounts on both machines with the same name and password? that makes life much easier - you shouldn't have any problems at all.

Using admin accounts on both machines, however they are not the same name and password as the XP machine is my brothers. I don't understand how they've managed to make something that has always been simple, massively complex with all the permissions and ownership of files etc etc.
