Hi Guys got a bit of a problem. I have been dule booting Vista and XP Pro for a while now and have only just started gaming on Vista (Ultimate 32bit btw) and am having lots of shearing and patches of texture missing. Current hardware and drivers are as follows.

SIS 755 A2 Motherboard
Skt 754 AMD 3000+ 64bit
1gb generic ram ddr1 pc3200 2x512mb not duel channel
Nvidia 7600Gt 256Mb AGP
80gb Maxtor HDD X2 IDE
40gb Maxtor HDD x1 IDE
Sony DVD+RW X1 IDE

Thats about it.

The Games i have been playing are.
Company Of Heroes
C&C3
CS:S
BF2
Settlers 2 10th Anniversary

Currently runing the 165.25 Vista 32bit drivers. GFX core temp is 55 idle 62 under load from BF2. I have never had this problem with XP and now i want to go completely over to Vista this pops up. Any one got a clue as to what the problem is?

...not 100% sure this is whats causing it but some more ram wouldnt hurt there m8 ... Vista loves memory

Oh forgot to mention I'm running Vista 64 but Ive also ran 32 bit version on both (still am now) using forceware drivers 169.25 without any issues but the least ammount of ram Ive used is 2GB (now running 4GB)

mmm interesting as i would not have thought the ram issuse would be the cause of the problem. will have a look to see if i can afford the upgrade :( am skint at the moment.

If you're not planning on upgrading anytime soon then that system would be better running on XP

what makes you say that? apart from the graphics corruption its running vista very well.

But not as well as XP would.

Your better off with XP if you're not running at least a dual core with 2gb.

Nvidia driver support for older cards (7xxx) get kinda neglected on Vista.

Tis true, support for older cards on Vista isn't as good as it is for newer cards. All Nvidia care about is making sure the cards will run Aero!

I suggest installing the 174.70's, (search this forum for them).
