On the daul 32/64 basic, business and premium editions only the 32-bit actualy comes on the DVD with 'info on obtaining 64-bit DVD'. So what's the info on obtaining the 64-bit, do you have to write off and get it direct from M$? And is there any licensing issues on migrating to and from 32 or 64 bit? Can you install/uninstall as you see fit?

You need to order the 64 DVD from MS, which will cost you about £7 for shipping.

As for whether you can chop and change between 32 and 64 bit, it depends on the license. You can will the retail version but not with OEM.

Thanks.

if u are obtaining the 64bit, u won't be able to dual boot the 32bit and 64bit. u only can install/use one at a time. e.g if u install 64bit u can't install 32bit also..

Actually that's not the case, I have OEM editions of 32 and 64 bit, the licenses work for either edition on the same PC and activate without any problems.

That isn't to say that your actually licensed and following the EULA.

if your using your 32bit key for the 64bit, you are not licensed... the 32bit key is only licensed for the 32bit OS and the 64bit key is only licensed for the 64bit OS...

being activated isn't the same as being licensed..

I can download myself a copy of Vista64 Ultimate edition from a torrent.
Doesn't mean I am in any way licensed to use it.
Just because something is physically possible doesn't necessarily make it legal.
