OK I have XP and Vista - dual boot on separate drive.

Windows XP installed a few months back, then Vista RC2 on the other drive, Vista setup the dual boot.

now I crashed my XP build (overclocked RAM too high) - and needs reinstalling.

if I FDisk my XP drive and re-install XP - I'm presuming I'll loose the dual boot - can I then get it back without reinstalling vista ? Are there any files I need to keep like boot.ini ?

thanks for any help,

Mark.

sorry I wasn't very clear was I - overclocked my RAM 4:5 to 860 - ORTHOS stable for 9 hours + ... :) - but then after a week - it crashed on bootup - right at the end - desktop was visible etc.

restarted and got \systems32\system corrupt

so had to put old version of system in place of it - but its messed everything up - internet not working, DVD drive says in device manager "corrupt or missing driver" etc .. bascially its screwed up - so need to reinstall :(

no I copied over from repair directory on c: the file - but I think its the same one as on the repair disk.

I uninstalled just about everything on the XP buld now -but no internet - think all the Winsocks etc are up the creak, DVD drive doesn't work etc ?! LOL
