If I replaced my current X2 in my media center with an X3, would DVD maker use the extra core and make my encoding 33% quicker? Or does it max out with 2 cores, like a lot of other encoding programs?

I think it is multi threaded and (ignoring overheads) wouldn't going from a dual to a triple core cpu make it 50% quicker? You're adding half your cores again
