Hi.
Does anyone know what Vista Enterprise Edition is? Or more specifically, what it offers over Ultimate? I cant find any concrete/informative info on it myself.

Thanks. :).

It's exactly as it sounds. Enterprise edition:

Windows Vista Enterprise helps global organizations and businesses with complex IT infrastructures lower IT costs, reduce risk, and stay connected. The premium edition of Windows Vista for businesses, Windows Vista Enterprise includes all the features in Windows Vista Business plus extra capabilities designed to help reduce the cost and complexity of deploying and managing corporate PCs. It provides higher levels of data protection, easier application management, and improved standardization for global operations. Windows Vista Enterprise also offers stronger data protection for a growing, mobile workforce, including more protection of sensitive data in the event a mobile PC is lost or stolen.

Or if you cut through the FUD the principal differences are:

  • Bitlocker Drive Encryption
  • No Media Centre
  • Only available via volume licences

nothing

Ultimate is everything

enterprise has the stuff that ultimate has, but without all the consumer stuff like media centre.

Think bitlocker drive encryption is vista enterprise and ultimate plus multi language disk images i think. With normal vista corporate you can only have 1 language in a disk image. Enterprise allows 1 disk image to contain all languages so only 1 image is required company wide. Only usefull if your a large multinational with users speaking several languages.
