When i first installed Vista Ultimate 64 it kept a backup of my original Windows folder, it took at least 10 minutes to delete. Even now after being fully patched it still takes ages when deleting folders with lots of files in. Moving files on the same partition should be instant yet sometimes takes a few minutes. Copying takes far longer than it ever did in XP.
It seems to spend a large portion of time calculating the amount of time required, sometimes more than it takes to actually do the job itself. Just browsing through the file system seems a little sluggish.
Also, when going into Programs it takes about 5 seconds to populate the list and isn't instant like XP.
In all other aspects it is perfect so im at a loss to why it's behaving like this? Anyone else suffer from something similar?
System specs: AMD X2 4200, 2 gig 6400 DDR 2, 2 x 7200 H/D's with Page file on second disk on its own partition.
