Vista file sharing

I have 2 PCs - main PC and media PC

Main PC can see Media PC's folders, add files etc

Just reinstalled Main PC, but now can't map any of Media PC's folders
It asks for a username and password to connect, and i put in the same as pre-reinstall, but nothing

what am i doing wrong?!

Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > remove one of the options (Password protected sharing as I remember, which makes some sense).

Could you have not just logged in with the media PC's username and password? Or, create another account on your media PC (same as your user name and password for your main PC), and set up permissions accordingly?
