Hey all,

I'm currently running on Windows XP 32-Bit.
I will be upgrading my computer soon to one with 4 Gigs of RAM. Therefore I will need to move to a 64Bit OS.

I thought, what better reason to move to Vista :p

However, the question still poses... Will I be disappointed moving from XP to Vista. I use my computer for gaming and the internet, and sometimes for work. Is Vista still plagued with bugs with games?

I was in a similar position when I switched to Vista, I was really concerned about Vista and gaming, when I finally took the plunge and made the switch I was really amazed about how good it was, there was so many people saying it was bad for gaming and nowadays, its just as good as regular XP tbh :)

Its the norm for me, all working as expected. Different story when i got it at release, but Windows Updates, Hotfixes and driver updates have made it all normal. Wouldnt dare go back to XP :) Infact, once Service Pack 1's been released, id highly recommend Vista for any gamer.

i never had any problems getting games working with vista...didnt have any stability problems either.
vista does have a beautiful interface and does try and be very helpful also is a lot more secure.

the main reason i installed vista was for DX10 but from my experience that has done nothing but cripple the performance of games......vista was a fair bit slower before sp1 (not sure about after...i heard its lots better now) so i always ended up booting back to xp when playing games.

after i formatted my hd i havent bothered to install vista again....even though i do miss playing mahjong titans.
vista does have a lovely interface but after a while the novelty did wear off.

some say its the way forward but atm there can be some compatibility issues with some programs...im sure there are easy enough work arounds for most of these.......but i'll wait a while

Its terrible and I am disappointed each time I boot into vista
But I would recommend that you try it for yourself in a dual boot to make your own mind up. :)

When i first had vista i used a dual-boot setup incase i had any problems, which i didn't. I found after no time at all that i never used XP :)

Vista is fine, much nicer to use IMO, astheticly superior aswell and with the adition of Service Pack 1 performance has improoved vastly so go ahead with vista matey.

Vista is the sporn of the Devil. It will eat your eyes and rip out your heart. You computer will be a smoking pile of plastic and metal after install. No I'm kidding, its fine.

Well as SP1 has been released today via Windows Updates I guess go for it now.

Seriously though it's a superb operating system and is very comparable to XP in the way it runs games.
