Vista freezing when waking from sleep

Sometimes when I bring my pc out of sleep and try to open Fire Fox vista decides to freeze. The clock widget still moves as do the other widgets but nothing else works or loads and i'm forced to turn the pc of manually. What's causing the problem and how do i fix it?
