Hey Guys,

To say ive spend the last 2 days "trying" to get to grips with vista would be a understatment. Ive tired.

I took the plunge after getting Vista through work free and just brought another 74Gb raptor to give me Raid 0. Ive used it so many times on customers machines e.t.c but chose to give it a go.

I have all the latest drivers, all the updates. UAC is off, Windows Search is off.

BF runs OK, although no way near as good as XP. Sometimes glitches like im writing to the hard drive, although there is none.

Ive used Windows XP Home Edition for 6 months perfectly and NEVER had these errors...

Anyone give me any pointers before I format back to XP...

Try these things:

Right click BF 2142 and select 'Run as administrator'

Uncheck hide hidden files and folders in folder options then look for a file in your bf 2142 folder called 'radial.cdb' and delete it, you dont need it.

Do those things and it should work with no problems :)

Cheers, will give them a try ;)

I forgot to say this I get these errors after 5-10 minutes of play.

Try this, (not got time right now to do screenshots but its pretty easy anyway)

Download CFF explorer

http://www.ntcore.com/exsuite.php

Run and browse for BF2142.exe

Expand File Header, In the tab that opens opposite, where it says characteristics , click here

Box pops open and tick 'App can handle >2gb addressest

Save and exit

Forgot to say, if your on Vista 32, you will have to edit your boot ini

Run command prompt with admin rights

Copy and paste this line below
BCDEDIT /set increaseuserva 2900

Did you install manufacturer specific motherboard drivers when you put vista on, or did you let vista install it's own?

It will do so, but they're rubbish. I had all sorts of memory errors and bluescreens before I hunted down vista 64 drivers on the Gigabyte website and installed them.
